AI Assistants Get More Credit Than Humans AI is all around us, and ethical conversations are inevitable now that systems can make, or at least help us make moral decisions.

Yet, it is unclear how much responsibility we assign to agents. A recent study from LMU Munich explored respondents’ responsibility ratings for assisting AI systems. Participants had to rate how much responsibility they would assign to the driver and how much to AI in various situations.

While AI assistants were regarded as less responsible than humans in almost all situations, findings show that people praise AI when crashes are avoided, and consider it the more responsible agent.
